The Optima II is an extremely accurate audible altimeter that includes the option of adding warning beeps for a specific altitude during normal and high-speed landing approaches. Ideal swoopers and conservative pilots.
The Optima II from LB Altimeters is an extremely accurate audible altimeter that includes a warning bank to assist swoopers enter the optimum swoop corridor and conservative pilots find the “sweet spot” for starting their landing sequences. It is recommended that eyesight and experience serve as the primary source for determining at what altitude to start your landing sequence or pattern approaches.
The Optima II offers three climb-to-altitude warnings, three high-speed warnings (up to 19,990 feet), and three canopy-descent and low-speed warnings. There are separate, adjustable freefall and canopy flight volume control settings. The swoop guide delivers pulsating tones between the first and second warnings and a high-pitched siren as the third.
Built-in mounting holes ensure the Optima IIfits any helmet, inside or outside. Its thin, curved, ergonomic design ensures a comfortable, in-helmet fit, and the rubberized coating ensures durability. An LCD screen offers easy, intuitive operation. Easy and quick to set on the ground or in the aircraft and if the DZ elevation differs from that of the airport. Displays present altitude during climb. Altitude selection interval: 10 feet or 10 meters.
